Coccyx Pain - Coccidin

The coccyx bone (Coccyx) consists of 3-5 small bones that are articulated at the lower end of the sacrum bone in the lowest part of the spine. This bone boils together around the age of 30.
Coccidin is pain in the coccyx bone, that is, in the coccyx. this pain is usually caused by problems with the joint (Decrococcygeal joint) between the coccyx bone and the sacrum bone. It can cause severe discomfort when sitting or leaning on your back.

Risk Factors
It is more common in women and those who are overweight. It occurs in women about 5 times more often than in men. Although the cause of this is not known for sure, it is thought that women may be more easily exposed to trauma as a result of the fact that the coccyx bones are slightly dislocated to the back. Another reason may be that women have a coccyx bone injury when giving birth.

It is known that obesity (excessive obesity) can also cause coccyx pain. It is also believed that obesity also causes obesity to change the way a person sits, so both sitting in a bad position and overweight are due to the excess pressure that gets on the coccyx.

How to Protect Our Tailbone?
There is no definite way to prevent coccyx pain and protect your coccyx bone, but the risk factors can be reduced. Taking precautions when doing some sports such as horse riding, cycling, skiing and rowing, and preventing a fall, especially paying attention when walking on icy or broken roads, can protect your coccyx.

Causes of Coccidin
Among the most common causes of coccid Dec are falls, excessive cycling, and difficult exercises such as rowing. In these activities, the coccyx bone can be crushed, broken, or dislocated. This, in turn, causes a painful inflammatory reaction and November spasm. In addition, bone growths at the lower end of the coccyx, diseases of the joint where the bone joins the spine, joint inflammation, infections, and cancers of this area can also be the cause of coccidin.

Diagnosis
The patient's medical history is very important for making a diagnosis. Falls and traumas in the past tense are questioned. The fact that the pain is above the coccyx is usually easy to diagnose, and the pain may increase by pressing on it during the examination. After the examination of the patient, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT) can show the condition of the coccyx, dislocation of the sacrococcygeal joint, fractures of the bones, or whether there are tumoral events.

Medical Treatment
Coccidin can become chronic in a very small proportion of patients and last for more than 2 months. In this way, it can significantly impair the quality of life. In these conditions, it is necessary to consult a doctor and undergo treatment. Many people with coccyx pain can recover with medical treatment. The things to do in medical treatment are listed below.
Ice pack or hot application: both of them can pass the pain quickly but short-term.
Bagel-shaped pillows can be therapeutic, as they will relieve pressure on the coccyx during sitting.
Sitting for too long should be avoided.

Bed rest can accelerate recovery, as it prevents the coccyx from straining.
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can help relieve pain by reducing inflammation in the coccyx.
An injection can be made into the coccyx or sacrococcygeal joint. This injection can sometimes cause the pain to pass completely or for a long time.
